Children learn skills that will help them learn how to read and write long before they start school. When do they start? In INFANCY and through the first 5 years of life! The library has adopted the Every Child Ready to Read @ your library® project, so that we can help you get your child ready to learn how to read before starting school. Our Early Literacy program can help you get your child ready to learn how to read in school!

The library offers several programming options for parents and their children, because you are your child's most important teacher. Storytime programs help your child develop reading and early literacy skills that are fundamental building blocks for success in school. Read aloud programs help the family develop these basic building blocks by continuing to read.
Family Read Aloud Club – This program invites parents to read aloud to their children during the school year. The aim of the program is two-fold: for families to spend quality time together and to promote lifelong literacy.
