Dr. Duerring spoke of the partnership with the libraries in Kanawha County and the combined focus of improving education going forward. He explained the factors that combined to cause deficits in funding that would be resolved by passage of the excess levy and plans for improving education in the County that the excess levy would make possible.
Mr. Albert followed by further discussing the upcoming excess levy election as it applies to the Library. The election affects fully 40% of tax support for the Kanawha County Public Library and will determine the future course of library service in this County. A group is forming to organize contributors and volunteers to work to pass the levy. The best way to help this cause is to volunteer your time. Details on the election and informational material will be distributed as they become available.
Upon completion of the presentation, everyone was invited to stay for refreshments provided by the Dunbar Branch Advisory Board and to tour the facility.back to page menu
